For a buyer looking along a known lane, the narrower ReachIR view may be worth investigating; for open-ended searching, coverage deserves greater weight.
The 35-640 alternative changes more than sensor resolution. Its published horizontal view is wider, so a step up within the family can increase both native samples and scene coverage. Avoid the assumption that the larger lens necessarily narrows the view. This is precisely the kind of comparison where the field-width tool can clarify geometry without pretending to reproduce either device’s actual thermal image.
Power is the other question to settle. AGM rates the 25-384 up to 4.5 hours and supplies a replaceable-battery design. Plan the number of sessions between charges and verify the appropriate spare rather than reading the rating as guaranteed endurance. We have not field-tested it.
